Privacy policy
Arkvento is the trading name of Mikael Stewart, a sole trader based in London. This policy explains what personal information is collected through arkvento.com and in the course of providing services, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Who is responsible
Mikael Stewart, trading as Arkvento, is the data controller for information collected through this website and for the running of the business. Contact: mikael@arkvento.com.
When Arkvento builds or runs systems on behalf of a business (for example an automation that replies to that business's customers), Arkvento acts as a data processor for that business, under a written data processing agreement, and the business remains the controller of their customers' data.
What is collected and why
The free check and checklist forms
Business name, website, area, category and your email address. Used to run the check, send the report or checklist, and, only if you ticked the separate box asking for them, send a short series of emails about automating small business admin. The checklist is sent whether or not you tick that box. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw by replying "unsubscribe" or clicking the link in any email. Forms are handled by Netlify Forms and email by Zoho Mail; both act as processors.
Enquiries by email or phone
Whatever you send. Used to reply and, if you become a customer, to deliver the work. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, then performance of a contract.
Work delivered for you
Access to your website, Google Business Profile and other tools you grant, and the content within them, only as needed to deliver what you have agreed to. Legal basis: performance of a contract. Your content is stored only in your own accounts and in a private folder on Google Drive, never in a separate database.
Website analytics
None. This site does not use cookies or tracking scripts.
Who it is shared with
Nobody, except the processors needed to run the service: Netlify (hosting and forms), Zoho (email), Google (Drive and calendar), Stripe (payments; Arkvento never sees card details), and, for AI-assisted work, Anthropic under business terms that do not permit training on your data. No data is sold or shared for marketing.
How long it is kept
Enquiries and free-check data: 12 months, then deleted unless you have become a customer. Project files: for the duration of the work plus 12 months, then deleted on request or at Arkvento's next annual review. Email list: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask what information Arkvento holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Email mikael@arkvento.com and it will be dealt with within one month. If you are unhappy with the response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. Access granted to Arkvento is used only for the agreed work and removed at your request or at the end of the project.
